The Future of the LWA

St. Louis has long been a town that is steep in tradition as it relates to professional wrestling. From the days of Sam Muchnick promoting the National Wrestling Alliance, to Vince McMahon introducing his brand of “sports entertainment”, and even down to the numerous independent leagues that have fought valiantly to produce potential stars for the future; the one constant is that they all understood the historical value of pro wrestling in the hearts of fans in the St. Louis region. Even today, some of these ambassadors of wrestling are still working hard to keep that tradition alive. Though different companies have come and gone, some changing names and some splinter groups, all have impacted the business in some way. Fortunately for St. Louis, most of these have done so in very positive ways.

The show started with Jordan Lacey coming out and promising the fans a striptease, but the fun didn’t last long as the Submission Squad interrupted and brutally demeaned Jordan, calling into question his manhood. Humiliated Jordan went to the back, but the Squad remained at ringside for our first match:

Seven Years: History of the LWA Championship

With October 23 fast approaching, it’s incredible to imagine that the LWA is about to celebrate its seventh birthday! So many matches and memories have happened in that time, as well as many changes; most for the better, some for the worse. As every few years seem to bring us a different era in the LWA, the one constant is the image of a man standing proud wearing that crusty old championship belt! While there’s been many changes to the LWA scenery over seven years, such as ring decorations, entrance set ups, video displays, special lights, and even the wrestlers themselves, the one thing that has been the same is the actual title belt that every champion has worn. It’s not the prettiest or the most grand, but it has been passed on to many different accomplished grapplers over the years. This article is dedicated to all those mighty wrestlers who have made it to the top of the LWA mountain since its inception seven years ago.
